Rarities Update
Birds have been thin on the ground now that migration is over. But in the past week two great rarities have turned up, so it was prudent to update the Rarities page of this Blog with the rarities recorded so far this year.
A Black Tern in breeding plumage was found and photographed by Abdulrahman at Jahra East Outfall on 8 June 2007. This represents the 3rd record for Kuwait. Images by Abdulrahman Al-Sirhan

A Spur winged Plover was photographed by Abdulrahman at Jahra East Outfall on 6 June and this represents the 6th record for Kuwait and a great western palearctic record. Images by Abdulrahman Al-Sirhan

The Radde's Accentor was found on 31 March 07 at Al-Abraq by a visiting group of Swedish birders and was the 1st record for Kuwait. Image by Pekka Fagel
