After 6 days off and lots of ringing and bird watching, today proved to be the best for variety.
Two Sociable Lapwing arrived at the chicken farm in the afternoon.
This Short-eared Owl was very obliging.
The rain has stopped and the sun is out but there is water everywhere so old tracks can be hard to follow. I managed to get a few shots behind sanad mangrove.
How did that get up there?
These two Marsh Harriers were mobbing a dog who was hunting next to the mangrove!!
Redshank, Black-tailed Godwit, Marsh Sandpiper and Gull-billed Tern.
Cattle egrets roost in the mangrove with other herons and egrets. Hundreds of birds arrive every evening from their feeding areas west of the reserve.
