Greeting from a colder than normal Bahrain
28th January at Badaan Farm which is living up to its reputation as one of the best birding sites in Bahrain - Social Plover Chettusia gregaria, (MN & HMK) spotted by Mike Newey (a Canadian working in Saudi) on his first birding trip to Bahrain. The bird which had a slight limp but could fly well was still present later in the day when Juhani Kyyro was able to get a distant photo. Mike during the course of the day added around seven species to his life list including Oriental (small) Skylark Alauda gulgula and Red-throated Pipit Anthus cervinus also at Badaan Farm
