Bad light stong winds but some interesting follow up on our breeding species
First the Little Ringed Plover who have breed this year for the first documented time in Bahrain - At the Diplomatic Wadi behind Riffa Airbase
Brendan has observed and then caught and ringed the two chicks last weekend (see Ringing page) - I returned to follow up - what a difference a week makes

While there watching the Plover I noted a Kentish Plover with three chicks amazingly one adult the female, had also been ringed - I assume from Brendens' efforts in previous seasons at the same site?

Caspian Tern don't breed here until October here but those that do are normally territorial unlike this pair part of a large flock on the shore at Tubli

Bar-tailed Godwits although fewer in number are one of the last migrant wader species still around
