Waders in transition

Permalink 17:43:52, Categories: Observation by Howard, Admin - Howard King

It really is amazing how quickly the shore can fill up with returning Waders, Greater Sandplover remain the most numerous followed by Curlew Sandpipers, however today I also found good numbers of Little Stint, Lesser Sand Plover, Terek Sandpipers and Curlew with the odd Whinbrel, Redshank, Broadbilled Sandpiper, and Bartailed Godwit along with our resident Kentish Plovers that created a sense of busy busy on the shore. Add to this a good number of terns herons and ofshore Socotra cormorants no one would believe it is 44c degrees with 85% humidity.
