Kentish Plover  Charadrius alexandrinus a common resident breeding species on Hawar from April through to August



This unidentified nest I recorded in 1998 on Rubud Al Shamaliyah Hawar has been identified from the photographs I provided to George Gregory as Gull-billed Tern
Sterna nilotica.
George who is in Kuwait documenting colonies of both Slender-billed Gull Larus genei and Gull-billed Tern Sterna nilotica along with other species has, based on the nest structure, been able to positively identify the nest and eliminated all other possibilities.
The species is being considered for inclusion of the list of breeding species for Hawar
